Now that Thanksgiving flew by, Christmas is coming quickly! Every year, almost all the Christmas gifts I give are homemade. It's a fun challenge to come up with new things to make each Christmas season that I've never made before and hope the recipient will enjoy. Thankfully I have a family who appreciates gifts made by hand. If they didn't - well - I just don't know what I'd even do. I almost don't know how to buy things for people. But what I do know is how to makes something from the heart.
With all that said, it always seems that December slaps me in the face with the reality that I haven't started making any of my gifts yet! I'm approaching that point of panic right about now, as December is rolling around the corner. You'd think I'd start early... or make gifts all year round! Heh, you'd think!
This Christmas chalkboard is a commission piece I just finished up for a family who has their home in a Historic Homes Tour. FUN! I gave it a "dusty" background, which is something I've just started doing more of. In this case, I thought the distressed look would compliment their historic home.
I should have thought in advance about offering more examples of custom Holiday signs. I am working on building a shop up with more examples of chalkboard signs, so it's easier to visualize what your custom sign could look like and include all the details about purchasing a chalkboard from me. There is still time to request signs and have them finished by Christmas! Just get your orders in by December 10th and we'll be good to go!
I hope you all have survived this crazy shopping time and no one got hurt! I stayed inside in my jammies. :3
